WHAT IS THE UNION OF SAFETY AND JUSTICE EMPLOYEES?
Protecting the public safety of 38 million Canadians is USJE’s number one priority. USJE represents nearly 18,000 federal Public Safety and Justice employees who work day and night, 365 days a year, to keep Canadians safe in every province and territory.
USJE members are federal parole and program officers, teachers, food service officers, maintenance and frontline staff who work inside and outside Canada’s extensive federal prison system to keep Canadians safe.
USJE members support the day-to-day operations of over 700 RCMP detachments to prevent crime, enforce the law, investigate offences and assist Canadians in emergencies.
Across 18 federal departments nationwide, USJE members actively protect the safety, privacy and security of Canadians as well as provide crucial access to information, justice and human rights.
